We have filled the roster for our Summer Intensive, and our application process is closed. No further applications for 2021 will be accepted. Students on the Summer Intensive waiting list will soon be informed of their placement status. If your waitlisted student cannot be placed in our Summer Intensive, your deposit is fully refundable. Please see the information below for deposit refunds in other circumstances.
Summer Intensive will be July 12 to August 6, 2021, Monday through Friday.
*COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed during our Summer Intensive. The Summer Intensive is also subject to cancelation depending on the current guidance for Multnomah County during July/August 2021.
Our Summer Intensive is open to students entering First Grade up to students entering Sixth Grade.
Summer Intensive will consist of 60 minute of individual Orton-Gillingham tutoring sessions, delivered Monday-Friday for four weeks (20 total lessons). This year, families will have the opportunity to participate in-person or virtually. In-person sessions will be delivered at our office in NE Portland (1907 NE 45th Ave).
A reading and spelling assessment is required for enrollment, to help familiarize our staff with your child’s current skills and abilities. This skills testing is included in the tuition. We will contact you to schedule a 45-minute assessment appointment in June. Your deposit will be refunded if The Blosser Center determines that your student would not benefit from the program.
No professional academic and cognitive testing for learning disabilities is required to participate in the Summer Intensive. If families plan or believe they will want to continue tutoring after the Summer Intensive, The Blosser Center requires that complete testing be done and the results reviewed by our Clinical Director. The tuition for the month-long intensive instruction is $1,400.00. A $250.00 deposit is required at the time the application is submitted. The remaining balance is due by June 21, 2021.
The deposit will be refunded if the Blosser Center determines that the student would not benefit from the program. If you cancel your registration, the deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to fill the slot with another student.
